"Fast Enough to Keep Me Spoiled"
The connection speed is generally good, which is great because apparently I’ve become the kind of person who notices the second it dips even a little. It does slow down here and there, but nothing too dramatic. Overall, it gets the job done

"Pretty easy and works fine"
I’ve been using hideAWAY mostly on Chrome and Firefox, and I did try it once on Edge too. So far, like, I haven’t run into any weird loading problems or broken pages or anything. It’s easy to use, which is basically all I really needed.

I’ve been using hideAWAY for a bit now, and I’m kind of torn on it. Some of the updates are genuinely helpful, and I do appreciate that they’re still actively improving things. But then again, maybe I’m just unlucky, because a few updates have made little things feel worse or a bit broken when they were working fine before. It’s not a bad service at all, I just wish the updates were more consistent. A couple times I had to wait for another patch before everything felt normal again. I’d probably give it 3 stars.

"Mobile experience was frustrating"
I tried using hideaway.online on my phone, it was more annoying than useful. The app kept loading forever, pages would freeze randomly, and a couple of times it just logged me out for no clear reason. I had to restart it several times just to do basic stuff, which got old fast. Maybe the desktop version is better, but the mobile experience left a bad impression. Right now, I wouldn’t bother with it unless they fix the app

The encryption seems solid overall, but I wish they explained how it actually works in a clearer way. I also felt kind of passed around when trying to get answers, like no one could really give me a straight explanation. It’s not bad, I just wanted a bit more clarity and confidence.

Setup was straightforward and the security seems decent overall. That said, I got annoyed by how unclear they were about stuff like encryption and login alerts. I don’t need a whole technical manual, but at least explain what’s actually happening in plain English. It feels okay to use, just not something I’d call amazing.

"Connection Drops Got Ridiculous"
hideaway was fine on some days, but the connection kept dropping way too often for my liking. I’d be in the middle of browsing and suddenly get disconnected, then have to wait for it to come back. It wasn’t the worst service I’ve ever used, but the constant dropouts got ridiculous quickly. I expected it to be a lot more reliable.

I was able to get in and watch what I needed, so overall it did the job. It did buffer a few times, which was kind of annoying, but I guess that means the streaming was working because it kept trying to load. Not perfect, but okay enough for me.

"Easy to switch around and does what I need"
I mostly went with hideaway.online because they had servers in the places I actually needed, like Europe, the US, and a few random countries I use for work. Switching locations has been straightforward, too. I’ve only run into one slow server so far, but that was avoidable since I just switched to another one and kept going. Overall, I’m happy with it.

"Decent service, but the billing could be clearer"
The service itself was okay overall, but the billing part kind of threw me off. I had to go back and check twice to understand what I was actually being charged for, and the renewal info wasn’t as easy to find as I expected. I also wasn’t totally sure what the next steps were after signing up, which was a little frustrating. Not a bad site, but they could definitely make the pricing and renewal details more obvious.

"Download speeds were disappointing"
I expected better. My downloads kept slowing down randomly, and it really wasn’t great for torrents. I even checked my receipt and the setup emails to make sure I hadn’t missed anything, but nothing really helped. Not the worst experience ever, but definitely not what I was hoping for.

I asked for a refund and, to be fair, it did come through without a ton of back and forth. Support answered reasonably fast, but i’m still annoyed I even had to deal with it in the first place. This whole situation could’ve been avoided if they had handled things properly from the start. At least the refund process wasn’t a nightmare, but they’re definitely the reason I had to waste my time on it.

"I really wanted to like hideaway.online…"
I really wanted to like hideaway.online, but it’s been frustrating. It’ll work fine for a little while, then suddenly freeze or drop out with no warning, and I end up restarting it over and over. After a while, it started to feel like I was practically begging the software to just do what it’s supposed to do, which made me resent using it more than anything. Maybe it runs better on other setups, but on my laptop it just doesn’t feel dependable. Support was okay, but the issue is still there. It’s not completely unusable, but it’s annoying enough that I can’t rate it higher.

"Does the job, just a little slow sometimes"
I’ve been using hideaway mostly to stop DNS leaks, it’s been solid so far. I ran it through a few leak test sites like a paranoid idiot, and my ISP’s DNS didn’t pop up, so that’s exactly what I needed. Setup was painless too, which is nice because I didn’t feel like battling some overcomplicated nonsense. Only giving it 4 stars because the app can be a bit slow to connect sometimes, which is mildly annoying, but overall it does what it’s supposed to do

From what I remember, the actual service worked fine overall, but the customer support was slower than I expected. I sent a message and ended up waiting quite a bit before hearing back. To be fair, once they did reply, the answer was helpful. It just stuck with me that the delay was kind of frustrating. Not a terrible experience, but probably not ideal if you need quick help.

I tried hideAWAY using the free trial, it worked better than I expected. The setup was quick, and I didn’t run into any confusing steps or get stuck along the way. Pages loaded properly, everything felt smooth, and it handled what I needed without any hassle. I also really liked being able to test it first before paying, which made me feel more confident about using it. So far, I’m impressed and don’t have any complaints.

"Works okay, but the no-logs claim needs more proof"
It does the basic stuff just fine, so I’m not saying it’s bad. But the whole “no logs” thing still makes me a little uneasy. Like, it’s 2025, we’ve all heard companies promise privacy and then suddenly there’s fine print or some vague audit from years ago. I’d feel a lot better if they gave clearer proof or more recent independent verification. Until then, it works, but I’m not fully convinced
